Approach

My primary therapeutic approach is informed by my training as a Gestalt therapist. This is an approach that emphasises building a strong therapeutic relationship as a foundation for exploration, challenge, support and experimentation, enabling more freedom and choice in life. I work with each person in a holistic way, taking into account the personal, biological, family, relational, socio-political and cultural contexts.

I also work with you in ways that are informed by CBT, Psychodynamic approaches, Attachment theory, Family Therapy, Mindfulness practices and Somatic therapies.

Using dialogue, experimentation, and attention to body sensations, my goal is to help clients and supervisees increase their awareness and insight in the present moment. This method is grounded in support and acceptance, and helps individuals connect with their experiences and navigate their challenges more effectively.

My aim is to help you gain insight into how your present experiences shape your life and to support you in navigating your challenges effectively.

I offer each new client a 15 minute intake phone conversation (no charge) to ensure that my approach will be a good fit for what you are seeking. You are welcome to get in touch with the contact form at the bottom of the page, or call and leave me a message.

I understand that it can be challenging to see a psychologist for the first time and I aim to make this process as comfortable and engaging as possible. I bring a sense of openness, authenticity and connection to the experience, and we will allow time for your issues and concerns to emerge.

Sometimes, I have my dog, Juno, accompany us during sessions. Many people find Juno’s presence calming and supportive, adding an extra layer of comfort to our work together.

I am a student of the Diamond Approach, which is an exploration of psychological and spiritual traditions and practices. This reflects my interest in how each person's development and growth is valuable and unique, whilst recognising some of the commonalities of our experience as humans.

Outside of my psychology practice, I enjoy painting, music and staying active. I find that these activities enrich my life and balance my work as a therapist. If you'd like to see my artwork you can look here

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your path to greater self-awareness and fulfillment.
